Blind Leopard
This work is based on a photograph I took of a rescued leopard. It took several moments to realize that her beautiful gaze was because she was blind. The 'Blind Leopard' was made for a coworker at FEED and the map reflects FEED's mission to help end hunger around the world. I try to work with found canvases whenever possible and used a wood shelf I picked up off the sidewalk as the canvas here. Spray paint is a fairly difficult medium to control, even with my hand-made stencils, which is why I love it. It's challenging and spontaneous.
